The song 'Ingerlaliinnaleqaagut', in particular, had me playing over and over, as the rhythm is very catchy, and the vocal depth and feeling is heartfelt. It was quite an experience to hear their songs, even though not understanding the Greenlandic language. Their music style and feeling within both the music and the video portayals of life from a Greenlandic perspective seemed to send a strong and good vibe through my soul. I took a look into the Nanook band, trying to find videos and other music references for them, and the more I watched and found, the more I was impressed with their level of talent. I had never heard of Nanook, and didn't know about any music groups from Greenland. Eventually, she mentioned some of the popular local music bands and had pointed out that Nanook was popular there. Every time I hear the song, it brings with it a range of feeling, and seems to both anchor my mind and catapult me at the same time. After listing over and over, one specific song began to stand out and presented a deep emotional feeling, that can not really be described in words. hehe), and kept on listening to the songs over the years. I borrowed my father's Miles Davis CD (never to return it. I had heard the songs enough, that by the time I moved away to go to school, and then continued on from there, every time I heard the music from this CD, it felt like nostalgia and a view into the past. One of those CD's that he played was the Miles Davis Tutu CD. I grew up in a household where my father was always playing Jazz fusion music.
